Vince Wilfork: Chiefs ‘Beat Us Like We Stole Something’

So the Chiefs absolutely dismantled Tom Brady and the New England Patriots last night, 41-14. It was so bad Brady ended up getting pulled for rookie Jimmy Garoppolo for the final two drives of the game. How does one react to such a beating? Vince Wilfork has one thought.

"“They beat us like we stole something.”"

Good effort, Mr. Wilfork. Only problem is, what exactly did the Patriots steal? The Chiefs were on top of New England from the very beginning of the game, bolting out to a 27-0 lead before Brady’s offense could muster their first points. Kansas City didn’t feel slighted because it did nothing to harm them.

Wilfork knows this.

"We just never got anything going. Nothing. They didn’t do anything we didn’t expect them to do. They executed perfectly."

The Chiefs, suddenly back to .500 at 2-2, now have a chance to have a winning record before their bye week if they can pull off a win on the road against San Francisco. Who would have thought that after the Chiefs dreadful start against the Tennessee Titans in week one and after all of the injuries and suspensions they’ve had to deal with in these first four weeks?

No matter, the Chiefs are playing like something has been stolen from them by someone other than New England. Maybe that thing is respect.
