Inactives: Jamaal Charles Out Against Miami
By Ben Nielsen
Jamaal Charles will not play this afternoon against the Miami Dolphins.
Charles, who has sprained/bruised ankle will sit in favor of Knile Davis. This will be Davis’ second career start after starting week 17 of last season against the San Diego Chargers. Last week he scored the Chiefs lone two touchdowns.
Charles did warm up with the team before the game and was considered a game-time decision. The Chiefs appear to be erring on the side of caution to keep Charles healthy for the full season. Charles will also have an extra day of rest next week since they will not play until Monday.
Kansas City’s other inactives include De’Anthony Thomas and Eric Berry, both of whom are injured. KC will need both of them back and healthy if they want to beat New England on Monday night. Ron Parker will start at safety in Berry’s place.
The remaining inactives are Aaron Murray, Albert Wilson, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, and Damion Square.
Miami will be without starting center Mike Pouncey and running back Knowshon Moreno. Additionally linebackers Jordie Tripp and Koa Misi will be out. Terrence Fede, Shelley Smith, and Billy Turner are also inactive for the Dolphins.
