The Kansas City Chiefs are in Miami to play the Dolphins in search of their first victory of the 2014 season. To do so they’ll have to overcome the loss of six starters – and maybe a seventh in Charles doesn’t play – and the contributions of De’Anthony Thomas.

With those players out and the Chiefs backs up against the wall, what do they need to do in order to pull of the upset victory? Here are five keys to the Chiefs beating the Dolphins.

1. Run, Knile, Run

Injuries and a shuffled offensive line have forced the Chiefs into playing possession football. Possession football was almost enough for the Chiefs to beat the Denver Broncos last week on the road and it should be enough for the Chiefs to take out the Dolphins in Miami.

Eating clock with Davis should be something they can do effectively. Davis has scored two touchdowns and totaled at least 100 yards of offense in his one career start and two extended relief of Charles. Getting chunks of yards and converting third downs with Anthony Fasano and Travis Kelce should be enough to eat a bunch of clock and put the Chiefs in a position to win.
