Jamaal Charles Participates In Practice

Jamaal Charles is back!

Multiple reports say Jamaal Charles is practicing with the Chiefs today despite having a sprained ankle. He did not practice yesterday.

This is a game-changer. Should Charles make it through practice without any problems and then still feel good tomorrow – ie no swelling of the ankle – then there may actually be a chance he plays in Sunday’s game against Miami. Having Charles at least available to play gives Kansas City the chance to pull off the upset in Miami.

In terms of the other key injured players, Eric Berry and De’Anthony Thomas, the news isn’t as positive. Both players missed practice today, with Thomas missing practice after participating yesterday. Thomas has missed the first two games of the season with a bad hamstring.

Berry is out with a sprained ankle plus his heel injury that he suffered in the preseason. His status for Sunday’s game in Miami is still up in the air. The Chiefs have played only one full quarter – preseason and regular season – where all four starting members of their secondary were on the field together.
