2. Jamaal Charles
Not sure if you heard or not but Jamal Charles touched the ball only 11 times in last week’s loss to Tennessee. This is simply unacceptable.
The core of the Chiefs offense is built on Charles and the tight ends. And it just so happens Charles is one of the best offensive weapons in all of football. It would make a ton of sense to get your best player on offense as many opportunities as possible to touch the ball.
It is true the Chiefs may need to be a bit more creative about how they get Charles the ball due to the depleted offensive line. Simply running up the middle 25 times probably isn’t going to work too well today. This means Andy Reid is going to need to take advantage of getting the ball to Charles quickly on the edges either through his screen game or quick short passes. If the Chiefs can get the Broncos moving from side to side then some things should open up over the middle for the tight ends.
But what matters most is Jamaal gets the ball early and often. If not then the Chiefs chances of winning today drop to practically nothing.
