Live Thread: Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos
By Ben Nielsen
Alright, week two against the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning. Let’s do this.
The Chiefs are stumbling after an awful performance against the Tennessee Titans to begin the season. Jamaal Charles barely saw the ball, Travis Kelce barely saw the field, and Andy Reid seemed about as clueless as we have every seen him since he arrived in Kansas City.
This week could be a bit of redemption for the Chiefs. While a win seems unlikely, they could at least show a more competitive edge than they showed last week. Maybe shaw a better rhythm on offense, prove the defense can be aggressive even without Derrick Johnson, and show the discipline with the football that was so beneficial to them last season.
For Kansas City to pull this off they are going to need their stud pass rushers to have a hell of a game. Justin Houston, Tamba Hali, Dontari Poe, and the rest of the pass rush have to keep Manning moving and uncomfortable. The more time he has to throw the more trouble the Chiefs are going to be in.
Add to that the need to get Jamaal Charles going. He is the offense and ignore him would be to effectively kill most of our offensive production. It won’t be easy to get him going given the offensive line situation and Denver’s duo of Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware.
What are you expecting in today’s game, Addicts?
