The Kansas City Chiefs have brought in former Green Bay Packers second round pick Jerel Worthy for a workout. This is according to Jason La Canfora and confirmed by Terez A. Paylor.
The Chiefs lost starting defensive lineman Mike DeVito to an achilles injury on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. DeVito will be out for the season as a result. Hence the need for the Chiefs to bring in someone like Worthy.
Worthy played two seasons for the Packers before being traded to the New England Patriots this August where he was later cut. Injuries have played a big part in his career, playing only 16 games in two seasons. He did have 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his rookie season with the Packers.
One would assume Vance Walker and Jaye Howard will share duties on Sunday at Denver if the Chiefs don’t find somebody else between now and then. Kansas City also has Damion Square on the roster but the Chiefs would be better off giving snaps to Howard and Walker.
