Three Halftime Thoughts: Tennessee Titans vs. Kansas City Chiefs
By Ben Nielsen
Tennessee Titans lead the Kansas City Chiefs 10-3 at halftime. Here are three thoughts about the first half.
THOUGHT ONE: Where’s Jamaal?
Jamaal Charles touched the ball on the first three plays from scrimmage for Kansas City, five times in the first possession. Since then he has only TWO touches for the Chiefs.
There is no way, absolutely no way, this offense is going to be successful if Jamaal Charles isn’t touching the ball more often. Something has to change in the second half with regard to getting Charles the ball more.
THOUGHT TWO: Derrick Johnson
I fear Derrick Johnson is lost for the season. The cart plus the look on his face screams season-ending injury. Kansas City does not have a replacement for him, so the defense is suddenly in a lot of trouble.
THOUGHT THREE: Offensive Line
The offensive line has play pretty decently, but the offense just hasn’t gotten going. No Jamaal Charles, Dwayne Bowe, or De’Anthony Thomas has made the Chiefs line look as if they are struggling. The reality is everything the Chiefs are supposed to be about – Charles and the tight ends – have been completely abandoned.
