Live Open Thread: Tennessee Titans vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Game one. Game on.

Chiefs season is here and gets started with a must win, and they’ll have to do it down Dwayne Bowe and Donald Stephenson due to suspension, Joe Mays to the injured reserved, and Marcus Cooper and De’Anthony Thomas to injury. Not the best way to enter a must win game.

Kansas City’s first six games feature the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and San Diego Chargers, no question the toughest stretch of the season. Getting out of this with at least a 3-3 record means the Chiefs cannot afford to drop games at home to teams like Tennessee.

For the Chiefs to win today the front seven has to be incredibly active. Marcus Cooper being hurt and not knowing the health status of Eric Berry means the Chiefs need their front seven to get as much pressure on Jake Locker as possible to protect the secondary. No pressure and the Chiefs may be in a lot of trouble on the back end.

Offensively the Chiefs should be okay. One would think this will be a low scoring game so it isn’t going to take too much more than 24 points to pull this thing out. Can the return of Jamaal Charles be enough to get the Chiefs to that 24-point mark?

No more speculation: It’s football time. Go Chiefs!
