Kansas City Chiefs ILB Derrick Johnson, DL Mike DeVito Each Injure Achilles

Kansas City has lost their two best run defenders.
Derrick Johnson and Mike DeVito have each left the game with achilles injuries according to the team. Worst case scenario for these injuries, and probably the most likely, is the two players will be lost for the season.

With both of them out for the season – although that is not official yet – the Chiefs have now lost their best three defenders against the run between Johnson, DeVito, and Joe Mays. Throw in the injury to Marcus Cooper and Eric Berry’s banged up heel and the Chiefs are rolling with a very depleted defense.
Kansas City will play James-Michael Johnson at middle linebacker in Derrick’s place. Vance Walker will likely move up for Mike DeVito although KC may look to more of a two defensive linemen look with Dontari Poe and Allen Bailey. Jaye Howard also saw some snaps with DeVito out.
