Kansas City Chiefs DL Mike DeVito Carted Off With Injury
By Ben Nielsen
Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Mike DeVito was carted off the field during the Chiefs-Titans game in the third quarter with an apparent ankle or foot injury.
DeVito appeared to have his foot rolled up on during a play at the beginning of the third quarter. Trainers were working on his foot while DeVito sat on the ground in considerable pain. He covered his face so as to not be seen by the cameras. Eventually a cart was needed to get him back to the trainers room.
Allen Bailey and Vance Walker should be the two defensive ends when they go to a base formation. Bailey and Poe have been the two defensive linemen in their 2-3-6 formation, a formation that suddenly becomes the only quality one the Chiefs have available to them.
DeVito marks the fourth defensive starter lost to injury so far this season. Joe Mays injured his wrist and is out for at least the first six weeks. Derrick Johnson left the game in the second quarter with looks like a serious ankle or foot injury. Marcus Cooper was inactive today with an ankle injury. Not ideal to say the least.
