Three Chiefs Hold The Titans Game In Their Hands

It’s a bit of a broken record, but it’s getting pretty close to now-or-never time for the former 1st overall pick. With quick, short passes to TE’s and RB’s, HC Andy Reid’s West Coast scheme can help mitigate some of the problems with a sub-par offensive line, but Tennessee knows that too and KC is inevitably going to face some 3rd-and-long’s in this game. Protections can be shifted and Fisher can get some help, but with as bad as the interior of the line has looked in the preseason, it doesn’t look like there will be many bodies to spare. You can’t shift protection when everyone is already filling some other hole in on the leaky line.
Luckily, Fisher will be facing a mix of Wichita-native OLB Kamerion Wimbley, OLB Derrick Morgan and familiar-face DE Ropati Pitoitua who combined for just 13 sacks last year, or about four each. The kicker will be if Tennessee decides to use OLB Shaun Phillips on passing downs. He had 10 sacks for Denver last year, and tormented the Chiefs in San Diego for nine seasons before that.
