3. Predicting the outcome of 2014.
Now this is going to be tough and may even get some hate, but I think the Chiefs regress in 2014. Now believe me I hope they prove me utterly wrong and shock the NFL for a second straight season. However I look at all the key losses that have occurred this off season and realize that a repeat of the same record in 2014 is out of the cards. Yes the defense has for the most part stayed the same in terms of key play makers and the addition of Dee Ford does add a unique set of pass rushers into the mix. But for every defense there is an offense and that is where I think the team missed the ball. We failed to really bring in a solid number 2 wide receiver. Yes Donnie Avery has potential and he emergence of talent during the preseason has shown a glimmer of hope for the offense. But then again the losses on the offensive line and the struggles of the number one overall pick Eric Fisher has left a sour taste in my mouth.
As for the record I am going with my original thought of 9-7 with maybe a wildcard berth depending on how well the San Diego Chargers do. I think 9 wins is quit a reasonable accomplishment given all the moves that occurred this off season. Do I see them beating Denver out of the AFC West if their record does not reflect my prediction? No, to be honest. I do however think the Donkeys will win the west but lose in the playoffs. Even if Denver did go to the Superbowl again the NFC is just that much better in terms of offense and defense that we will once again have an NFC team winning the Superbowl.
There you have it some of Floyd’s Thoughts on the recent moves made by the Chiefs. Now it’s your turn. What do you think the Chiefs will do this year? Do have any major concerns about the team this year? Let us know in the comments.
