2. Hate to see you go.
I was in the land of commerce and unique outfits…Walmart when I got a text from a friend shocked they cut kicker Ryan Succop. At first I was a little shocked, he was a decent kicker and the most accurate in franchise history at just over 81% accuracy. However the more I think about it the more it made sense. Undrafted rookie Cairo Santos, was proving to be just as accurate a kicker in the preseason and training camp, matching the veteran at every level. Santos has a bigger leg that Succop which has been his downfall in crucial games. Then there is the cost factor. Santos will be paid just 400,000 plus thousand for the year while Succop was owed a cool 2 million on the year. For a team that did not have a lot of room cap space wise, who had a viable second option it made more sense to go with Santos than stick with Succop. It is sad to see a good player go, however he is a solid option for a team who is in need of a good kicker. However if he goes over the Broncos…Man I do not want to think about that.
