Kansas City Chiefs Reduce Roster To 53-Men
By Ben Nielsen
As per the rules of the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs cut down their roster to 53-men by waiving or placing on injury lists 22 players. The list of people waived are as follows:
Running backs Charcandrick West and Jordan Campbell;
Offensive linemen J’Marcus Webb and Ricky Henry;
Defensive backs Demarcus Van Dyke, Malcolm Bronson, Justin Rogers, and Jonothan Amaya;
Defensive lineman Kyle Love, Kona Schwenke and Dominique Hamilton;
Linebackers Nico Johnson, Alonzo Highsmith, and Devan Walker;
Wide Receivers Mark Harrison and Fred Williams;
Kicker Ryan Succop.
Two players were added to the injured reserve list: Tyler Bray and Kyle Williams. The Bray news means the Chiefs will be able to keep all four of their quarterbacks without exposing them to the waiver system.
It is unknown at the moment if Williams is out for the season with his shoulder injury. He is also coming off of an ACL injury from last year.
Mike Catapano was added to the non-football injury list, and Dwayne Bowe and Donald Stephenson were officially added to the reserve-suspended list. Bowe will be eligible to return after week one, Stephenson after week four.
We’ll have more on the Chiefs 53-man roster later today. For now, what do you think of Ryan Succop getting cut and some of the other moves the Chiefs made?
