WIDE RECEIVER

Dwayne Bowe (suspended)

Donnie Avery

Albert Wilson

A.J. Jenkins

Frankie Hammond

Junior Hemingway

Cut: Kyle Williams and Mark Harrison

To me the final roster spot comes down to Junior Hemingway, Kyle Williams, and Mark Harrison. Harrison flashed some tools that I think they are going to try to stow away on the practice squad. Kyle Williams and Junior Hemingway have each dealt with health issues that have prevented them from seeming much action of the field.

Hemingway wins the job because of his familiarity with the offense and what he can bring as a red zone threat. His size helps, and he balances out what Wilson, Jenkins, and Avery bring to the offense.

It would not surprise me if all three of Hemingway, Williams, and Harrison are let go on Saturday and the Chiefs rolled with four wide receivers in their week one matchup against Tennessee. De’Anthony Thomas’ development has progressed a little faster than I think most anticipated and he’s seeing more and more action lined up as a receiver. Between Avery, Wilson, Jenkins, Hammond, and Thomas the Chiefs should be able to make due for one week.
