Wide Receivers
- Dwayne Bowe
- Donnie Avery
- Junior Hemingway
- Frankie Hammond
- Kyle Williams
- Albert Wilson
The wide receiver position is fairly cut-and-dry for me. Bowe and Avery are locks to make the roster. Three other spots appear to be spoken for between Hemingway, Hammond, and Wilson. The only question in my mind is whether or not the team will prefer second-year man Kyle Williams over last year’s trade acquisition from San Francisco (Jenkins). I expected A.J. Jenkins to take another step forward this offseason, but he simply hasn’t done that.
Williams has had an impressive camp and has 4 catches for 45 yards through three preseason games (Advantage: Williams). There’s some thought the final spot could be between Hemingway and Jenkins. Neither of them have done anything to cement a spot on this roster. Coming into camp, Hemingway was Reid’s favorite in the slot, so I’m guessing he’d also get the nod over Jenkins. Hemingway has added value as a quality contributor on special teams.
Tight Ends
- Anthony Fasano
- Travis Kelce
- Demetrius Harris
Nothing to see here, people. Sean McGrath’s retirement cleared any potential traffic.
Offensive Linemen
- Eric Fisher
- Jeff Allen
- Rodney Hudson
- Zach Fulton
- Donald Stephenson
- Ryan Harris
- Jeff Linkenbach
- Eric Kush
- Ricky Henry
Donald Stephenson’s recent suspension should make for minor drama along the offensive line. He’ll be out for the first four games of the season and it’ll be interesting to see if the Chiefs decide to carry additional support at offensive tackle. John Dorsey’s done a good job of providing Kansas City with versatile depth. They’ll have a few different options in front of them.
Former sixth-round pick Eric Kush made significant progress this offseason. He’s one such option for cracking the starting lineup in Stephenson’s absence. Kush can play at center or guard. Jeff Linkenbach and Ryan Harris also figure into possible line configurations at either guard or tackle.
