Making the Grade

Frankie Hammond: +1.1 overall grade

KC has a plethora of WRs competing for the final few spots on the 53 man roster. Out of those, none have done a better job of establishing themselves than Hammond. He is KC’s highest graded WR by a sizable margin with Dwayne Bowe at +0.1 and Albert Wilson at -0.4 being the other players that have stood out in the preseason games. With some of the other WRs failing to produce, Hammond has gone from a long shot to make the team to a possible starter in week one when Bowe is out due to suspension.

Missing the Mark

AJ Jenkins: -1.9 overall grade

Jenkins is the complete opposite of Hammond. He entered training camp with the expectation that he would make the team this season but has disappointed. His -1.9 overall grade ranks him 301st out of WRs that have been graded this preseason. That’s 262 spots below Hammond. By the third preseason game Jenkins was no longer seeing time with the first string offense, losing snaps to Hammond and Wilson. At this point, Jenkins making the 53 man roster would be a complete surprise.

Next up, the tight ends……..
