Chiefs Injury Report: Eric Berry Back At Practice
By Ben Nielsen
Hey it is good news for once!
Eric Berry has returned to practice for the Chiefs after missing most of camp and all of the preseason with a heel injury. Assuming things go well for the next few days one would think he should be in decent enough shape to start the season opener against Tennessee. That would be a huge plus for a defense who could really use his experience in the secondary.
Jamaal Charles was also back at practice today, which isn’t too much of a surprise since he he suited up for the game on Saturday (but did not play). One would think he’ll get a carry or two on Thursday and then will be back on the sidelines and ready to go for the season. Charles has participated in only nine snaps this preseason.
Dwayne Bowe is still out with his quad injury. It doesn’t seem to be a serious injury and Bowe will miss the first week of the season anyway due to his suspension. He should be fully recovered by the time he is eligible to play again.
Junior Hemingway is still out with his hip/leg injury. One would think he’s probably on the outside looking in when it comes to making the 53-man roster right now. Bowe, Donnie Avery, Albert Wilson, Frankie Hammond, Kyle Williams, and A.J. Jenkins are probably ahead of him right now if only because they are healthy. It will be interesting to see how that plays out over the next week.
