Chiefs Running Back Jamaal Charles Out For Game Against Carolina Panthers
By Ben Nielsen
Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will miss tonight’s game against the Carolina Panthers due to a bruised foot, says the Kansas City Star’s Terez A. Paylor. He is being withheld for precautionary reasons and the injury is not considered serious at this time.
With Charles out this leaves a lot of snaps for Knile Davis and Cyrus Gray, the latter is fighting for a spot on the roster. Joe McKnight is still recovering from a knee injury and will not be with the team so we may also see a lot of running back snaps for De’Anthony Thomas as well.
Mike Catapano and Mike DeVito did not make the trip to Carolina. Catapano is still sick and DeVito is recovering from a broken hand. Undrafted free agent Kona Schwenke is also out, leaving the Chiefs depth on the defensive line quite thin.
Eric Berry will miss another game with his heel injury. It is in the best interest of the Chiefs if he is full health and not running around in meaningless games. With that said, if he’s not back at practice sometime in the next week it may be a good time to start getting a little anxious about his readiness for the season opener against Tennessee.
