The Chiefs did not waste much time getting Junior Hemingway back into the swing of things with the first time offense after his return from a hamstring injury. His usage and the way coaches are talking about both him and Kyle Williams suggests Hemingway is currently a leader for a roster spot to this point.
Dressler simply hasn’t done enough to earn a spot on the team. He’s had the chance to stand out with the rash of hamstring injuries to Jenkins, Hemingway, Hammond, Harrison but he could not take advantage of the opportunity. And since there doesn’t seem to be an opening for him to make the team as a return man, Dressler simply doesn’t fill a need for the Chiefs on their roster.
Mark Harrison has a good shot to make the practice squad if he can clear waivers, and Hammond still has a chance to make the team too.
