Today is the last day of Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph and the last practice before the team’s second preseason game. So now seems like a good time to check in on our updated 53-man roster predictions.
A quick friendly reminder that these are predictions and nothing more. Let’s get this thing started.
QUARTERBACKS
Alex Smith
Chase Daniel
Aaron Murray
Cut: Tyler Bray
It still seems like a long shot to me that the Chiefs decided to keep four quarterbacks on the roster. You and I have both seen this issues in the secondary, and the offensive line could use as many able bodies as possible. It would seem silly to waste a roster spot on keeping a fourth quarterback.
With that said, Bray seems to be making the kind of progress that would earn him a spot on the roster. Andy Reid went as far as to say he was the most improved offensive player on the team. That should mean something, no?
This would seem to all come down to if the Chiefs think they can slip Bray through waivers – he should be practice squad eligible – or if they can entice someone to make a trade. Simply cutting Daniel doesn’t seem to be an option but it is a possibility.
