Kansas City Chiefs Injury Report: Ryan Succop Out Again, Eric Berry Leaves Practice Early

Ryan Succop missed his fourth straight practice and Eric Berry left practice early in Kansas City’s last Tuesday practice of training camp in St. Joseph.

The full extent as to why Berry left the field is unknown but he has been dealing with a sore heel and a dislocated finger. He did return to the practice field without pads so there is some thought the injury may not be too serious.

Succop’s groin injury has left all of the kicking duties to Cairo Santos, who is competing to take Succop’s starting job. The Chiefs next preseason game is on Sunday at Carolina so there is still a little bit of time to heal and take some kicks in game two of the preseason, but if he can’t go it will be a great opportunity for Santos to make his case for the job.

Mike DeVito (broken hand), Kona Schwenke (shoulder sprain), Josh Mauga (groin), and Damond Smith (abductor) did not practice on Tuesday. Mike Catapano was also not on the field to start practice.

The Chiefs have two days remaining in St. Joseph before they take Friday and Saturday off to prepare for their second preseason game in Carolina.
