4. Alex Smith Will Play All Of First Half

Andy Reid told reporters after practice Smith will play the entire first half of Sunday’s game against Carolina, which probably means we will see a lot of the first team offense and defense, too.

For the second straight game the Chiefs are going to play another solid defensive front, which should be good preparation for what the Chiefs are going to have to face against San Francisco, St. Louis, and Seattle later in the season. Yes, the Chiefs do not game plan for these games, but it will be interesting to watch and see if the offense is more in sync than it was last week.

We may also get to see a few more De’Anthony Thomas plays with the first team offense in addition to our first look at Travis Kelce with the first team. Those two players should be major contributors to the offense but neither really saw the ball while Smith was out there against Cincinnati. Given the explosiveness of both players and the toughness of the Carolina defense I’m excited to see how the Chiefs matchup.
