Running Back De’Anthony Thomas

Another player I am anxious to see on the field is De’Anthony Thomas the speedster from Oregon that the Chiefs picked up in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Thomas, from all the stories coming out of training camp is impressing all the coaches with his work ethic and his ability to make players miss. Now he is not the next Jamaal Charles, though with time it is possible he could develop into a solid player like Charles.

What I look for his how much time he will spend on the field and in which capacity. Surely when the first team gets their set in he will be seen in perhaps the back field or out in the slot for some wide receiver packages. One thing is for certain and that is he will get his reps on special teams. While his size is really suitable to punt returns I would not be surprised to see him return a kickoff or two, or perhaps be back with Knile Davis. Thomas has great potential and he is most definitely a player I will be interested to see when the Chiefs face the Bengals.
