TIGHT ENDS
Anthony Fasano
Travis Kelce
Demetrius Harris
Cut: Richard Gordon, Adam Schlitz
Unless Harris completely wets the bed in these preseason games, this will be your trio of tight ends heading into the regular season. Gordon will be the guy who steps in if there is an injury or if Harris proves he can’t handle being on the 53-man.
The more interesting battle may be to see who earns more snaps between Kelce and Fasano. Each are very different in terms of consistency and skill set, with Fasano being more reliable and Kelce having the higher upside. We probably won’t have a good idea with where the Chiefs are with that until after the third preseason game but it is something to keep an eye on in these first two games.
Harris is the wild card, a highly athletic player who seemed to make at least one highlight play per practice when he’s been on the field. There are still some growing pains left with him but he could be a huge steal for the Chiefs if his athletic potential is maximized.
