Weston Dressler

Cut: Mark Harrison, Junior Hemingway, Fred Williams, Jerrell Jackson

Practice Squad Candidates: Deon Anthony, Darryl Surgent

A lot to go over here.

First, it is hard to make the team when you’re on the trainers room getting treated for injuries, so while Harrison and Hemingway have shown promise early in practice they cannot be considered potential candidates to make the roster if they cannot stay on the field. Hemingway has missed over a week of practices and Harrison isn’t too far behind in the missed time department.

Jenkins has been hurt too, but his contract is as such where the Chiefs are likely to keep him because of salary cap purposes.

Dressler and Hammond haven’t done enough on the field to lock down their roster spots so they will have their hands full when Hemingway and Harrison do return to action. It is hard to see Dressler making this team based on what he has done so far in practice and what his competition has accomplished. He’s simply not as dynamic as Harrison or Albert Wilson have been through two weeks. With that said, a savvy game on Thursday could change the perspective of how we view Dressler.

The further we get into the summer, the more it looks like Wilson has a serious shot to make this team. In a lot of ways Wilson has been the player we thought Dressler was going to be before camp started only Wilson has proven to have more athletic tools to work with than Dressler. Baring a significant fall off or an injury, Wilson probably makes this teams – especially if the Chiefs keep seven receivers like I’m projecting.
