3. Wide Receivers

Kansas City’s wide receiver situation is getting really interesting. While they do not have an elite guy like Calvin Johnson or A.J. Green, they have a bunch of guys on this roster who can do unique things. It could end up being a ‘wide receiver by committee’ approach that ends up benefiting Kansas City a great deal.

The different packages the Chiefs could throw out there at any given time were fascinating to watch. One play they could go all size with Dwayne Bowe, Frankie Hammond, and Mark Harrison, and then on the next play go speed with Donnie Avery, Albert Wilson, and Weston Dressler with De’Anthony Thomas hiding somewhere. It would seem the Chiefs are approaching the wide receiver position as exploiting matchups rather than trying to find that ‘true number one receiver.’ Whether or not this will work, I don’t know, but it is an interesting approach.

Thursday cannot get here soon enough so we can get some sort of an idea of what these guys can do in a game situation.
