Derrick Johnson

DJ has been a cornerstone for our defense for quite a while now. While not the flashiest player or most vocal off the field, his consistency is huge for our defense. Since the 2010 season, DJ has amassed over 100 tackles each year, 8 total forced fumbles, and five interceptions. While playing a typical position of leadership, he has been able to be a force in the middle of our defense game in and game out. I’m not looking for anything specific out of DJ this preseason: as long as he maintains his consistency, that will be more than enough.

The most important time for Derrick will be into February. We are adding young pieces around him and his consistency in the middle of our defense will be huge to our hopeful playoff run.

There you have it, Addicts. Four players with obvious value to the success of the Kansas City Chiefs who get lost in the shuffle that is training camp. Are there any veterans you’ll be looking into specifically this preseason? Let us know in the comments below!
