ALONZO HIGHSMITH
Q: Do you know more of what will be expected from you due to your lineage?
HIGHSMITH: “I constantly think about that sometimes, because of my name and my dad, people might think, I remember his dad and he’s not his dad, he doesn’t play like his dad. I think about that sometimes, but at the end of the day I have to realize my dad was a great player for anybody. He’s a high standard for anybody to try and look up to and if I’m not as good as him or I fall short then I can’t worry about that, I have to go out every day and try my best to get better.”
Q: What was today like for you?
HIGHSMITH: “Today was real good, coming back from break, getting these reps. Sometimes you come back a little hesitant, but it was good today to get plenty reps in and get it out of your system.”
AA: Kansas City lacks depth at linebacker and Highsmith could provide that for the Chiefs if he can prove he’s a fit for the system. He’s not a great player by any means, but he can bring value off the bench. And has we learned last season, a team can never have enough depth.
