How much is left in Tamba Hali’s tank?

Tamba Hali will turn 31 in November, which isn’t particularly old. However, Hali plays at an energy level that is higher than most players. And for far too long Hali was the only legit pass rushing threat on the outside which probably took a little bit more out of him.

Given that he is in the last year of his deal and the Chiefs drafted Dee Ford in the first round, it is hard to see what the long-term future of Hali in Kansas City will be. With that said, he is in many ways the heart and soul of this defense. He is a physical, all-effort guy who is a team player. Losing him would be tough for the defense.

Then again, he will be 31 very soon…
