Who will be the Slot Receiver?
The slot positions seem to be a common area of interest on both sides of the ball, and for good reason. Neither the offense nor defense has an obvious answer for the position, with perhaps the offense being more of a toss-up. At the moment, it looks as if Junior Hemingway will take the starting role to begin the season.
While some people wonder if A.J. Jenkins will get a shot, I feel as if Hemingway will win the job fully in training camp, although that is one battle I’m going to keep an eye one. Jenkins had more yards on less receptions last year, but Hemingway was able to pull down two touchdowns.
My thought is that Hemingway will be the starting guy in the slot, with Jenkins being the fourth receiver and De’Anthony Thomas being more of a gadget player. All in all, the receiver situation will be an interesting one.
