Players Currently On The Roster:

Jeff Allen (starter)
Rishaw Johnson (starter?)
Jeff Linkenbach
Rokevious Watkins
Chandler Burden
Ricky Henry

Would the Chiefs be okay if they started the season with just the players they currently have?

No. While Rishaw Johnson did show some promise in his limited playing time last season and Jeff Linkenbach has some starts under his belt, the Chiefs would be foolish to go to camp with those two as the only real candidates to replace Jon Asamoah and Jeff Schwartz.

Would the Chiefs prefer to get an upgraded starter at this position?

Yes. While they may be okay if Johnson or Linkenbach wins the job, I can’t imagine that they are currently thinking that they have their starter all set and won’t consider other options.

Are the Chiefs in need of adding depth or a long term replacement player at this position?

Yes. Frankly, the only returning starting guard they have, Jeff Allen, isn’t very good. So this position could use some serious attention.
