In a possible draft day trade… IF… the Chiefs could only get a second and a third round pick for their first round selection… would you make that deal?
In a Show-Me State Minute! I’ve done so many mock drafts now that I’m convinced that if the Chiefs set about to fill all of their basic needs in this draft, they could do exactly that… as long as they didn’t strictly stick to the “best-player-available” model of drafting.
It’s hard to believe that a lot of teams don’t use a rating system that includes “ties.” How does a team and it’s conglomerate of evaluators compare a player like 6’0” CB Kyle Fuller (who’s ranked #27 by CBS Sports)… to a player like 6’2” QB Derek Carr (who’s ranked #27 by DraftTek)… to a player like 6’5” OLB Anthony Barr (who’s ranked #27 by ESPN and Mel Kiper)? In other words, if a team decides to rank players by slotting them in groups — who are given the same value — then those teams and their GMs have decisions to make down to the last moment, having to choose between a few prospects that may be given a similar grade.
