The Kansas City Chiefs announced today they have signed free agent defensive tackle Cory Grissom. Contract details are unknown at this point but one would assume it is a small, short-term deal. Here’s twitter evidence of the signing.

The Kansas City Star reported last week Grissom had agreed to a deal with the Chiefs.

A 6-2, 316 pound nose tackle, Grissom is a space eater who went undrafted after the 2013 draft. He spent last season in New England before being released this past March. The Chiefs were in need of a backup nose tackle after Jerrell Powe signed with the Houston Texans.

Grissom played in 46 games for South Florida in his college career, starting 40 of them. He accumulated 105 tackles, 16.5 for loss, and five sacks.
