Blake Bortles – Quarterback – UCF

Blake Bortles (6’5 – 232) didn’t knock anyone’s socks off with his combine numbers but the fact that he participated and didn’t shoot himself in the foot helped his stock immensely. The other two quarterbacks in the running for first quarterback off the board decided not to throw at all, Bridgewater didn’t even run his forty. Bortles’ showed impressive anticipation considering he had never thrown to the wide receivers in question and showed above average arm strength with his deep balls. The word on Bortles’ is that he has also been very impressive on the white board during interviews. I was a bit skeptical about bumping Bortles ahead of Bridgewater but it’s time for me to give in. He seems to be the real deal.
