Keith McGill’s raw skills are crazy. NFL Draft Scout has him listed at 6-3, 214 pounds with a potential low 40-time of 4.38. That’s just insane.

McGill has decent ball skills and worked mostly in man coverage in college. There is a strength and physical element he needs to add to his game, which will be something to watch at the combine.

As seems to be the case with a lot of these guys, there are some technical things he needs to improve on. He takes too many false steps and relies too much on his natural abilities a little too much at times. Speed receivers tend to get the best of him because of these issues.

There were also some toughness questions asked about him at the Senior Bowl. He dealt with some cramping issues, which led to a mediocre performance at the event. While he still went through all of the drills and practices, it didn’t prevent the toughness question from being brough up. Why? Who knows, but it is something that’s out there about him.

McGill is also not a very aggressive guy when you watch him, and his been knocked for his tackling ability. Part of this could be that he’s not very strong. He started his college career in junior college before arriving at Utah, so an NFL weight program could help him a great deal with some of these issues. What he does with the bench press will be interesting to watch.
