Geoff Schwartz was perhaps the biggest gem of last year’s off season acquisitions. While rumors surrounded his signing that he was “promised” the left guard position only to be beat out by Jeff Allen in training camp, Schwartz didn’t let that deter him. He continued to play his game and when injury struck, he took advantage. He ended up starting seven games in place of the injured right guard, Jon Asamoah, and stayed in the position, even after the incumbent was able to play.
PFF rated Schwartz highly as well. He was given a +18.3 rating overall, only having one game — Week 4 against the New York Giants — where he received a negative rating. He appeared by all accounts to be a hard worker and a player Dorsey should pursue during this off season to re-sign to the Chiefs roster.
