The Chiefs are still searching for the right guy to play next to linebacker Derrick Johnson. Jordan was brought in to be that guy, and while he played “okay” that’s about all he was. Pro Football Focus rated him at a +6.0 for run defense on the season, which is pretty good but he wasn’t able to get any pass rush on the quarterback from the middle of the defense and was rated a -1.5.

Many thought Jordan would just be a placeholder until rookie Nico Johnson matured, but it doesn’t appear as if that’s going to happen as quickly as most would like. Still with Jordan only being signed on a one year deal, the Chiefs may be forced to either go with the not-ready Johnson or re-sign Jordan for another year, sucking up valuable cap space they could spend elsewhere.
