I’m not going to gain any friends by giving this deal the grade I did, but I’m not budging. The Chiefs had one option at wide receiver and if Dorsey didn’t “show Bowe the money” he would have walked. That would have left..who…Dexter McCluster as the team’s number one option at the WR position? Was the contract steep? I won’t deny that. Did Bowe live up to the contract? No, I don’t think he did, but that shouldn’t affect the grade of the contract that was given before the season.
Bowe had better step it up in the next year of his contract or a move by Dorsey that was needed will turn into a bust. With a $12 million cap hit this season, the “Bowe Show” better be doing more touchdown dances and falling down a hell of a lot less in 2014.
