The jury is still out on how well this trade worked out. This was a weird deal between two teams who both had first-round receiving “busts” they wanted to get rid of. Chiefs fans were fed up with Baldwin and his “I’m Calvin Johnson in training camp, but garbage in a game” routine.

Similarly, the 49ers fan base felt the same. So, Dorsey played a game of “swapsies” to see what would happen. While it took Jenkins a bit to get on the field, once he did, he actually made some plays. The game in which Jenkins saw the field the most — the Week 17 match up against the San Diego Chargers — he was rated a +1.1 by PFF.

AA staff writer Joseph Hoyt wrote that “A.J. Jenkins will break out next season” and breaks down why. I think there’s a good chance he does, especially since the Chiefs brass are very high on the young man.
