Kansas City Chiefs (soon to be free agent) safety Quintin Demps joined Danny Parkins and “The Drive” on 610 Sport Radio from Radio Row in New York City this afternoon to promote his new music label and talk Chiefs football. After Demps started out the interview a bit of freestyling, the questions turned to football.

The first question out of the gate was one that is weighing on a lot of Chiefs’ fans minds, and that is: will Demps be a Chief next season?

"We won’t know until March. Let the chips where they’re going to fall. Absolutely. I love to be a Chief. I love to play for Andy Reid and be in that stadium."

Demps is on his third NFL team in his career and this is his second stint playing for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. Parkins asked him what he thought about coach Reid.

"Man Andy, he seems more laid back now. He’s not as tough as he used to be. I love his new attitude. He would push us more. Training camp was a beast. He would have no sympathy. Everybody loved playing for him."

A big question, of course, was in regards to the Chiefs heartbreaking loss to the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the playoffs. “The Drive” asked Demps how long it took for him to get over that loss.

"It actually took me about…till last week. I didn’t like that. Especially when you’re up 38-10 and they come back and beat. I don’t even like talking about it. It kind of disgusts me. It was unexplainable."

In regards to Demps return ability, the question came up whether it’s talent or because of special teams coordinator Dave Toub.

"It’s hard to pinpoint. I’ve always been a good returner in the league. But he had Devin Hester. I think they go hand in hand. You can’t have one without the other. I definitely give credit to him and his scheme."

Finally, Parkins asked Demps who the best rapper in the Chiefs locker room is.

"Me, [Eric] Berry or Tamba [Hali]. Me and Tamba talked about [working on a project together] it. We couldn’t get around to it. We were too focused on the season."

Demps is one of the Chiefs free agents I wouldn’t mind seeing back in red and yellow this season. What are your thoughts on the Chiefs prime kick returner and back up safety, Addicts?
