Chiefs Jamaal Charles Joins Texans J.J. Watt on Team Sanders

The NFL Pro-Bowl captains have been placed on teams in preparation for the first-ever Pro-Bowl draft and Kansas City Chiefs prolific running back Jamaal Charles has been teamed up with co-captain Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt on “Team Deion.”

This year’s pro bowl will feature a first ever “unconferenced” (that’s in quotes because it’s not really a word) format where team leaders Deion Sanders and opposing leader Jerry Rice — whose co-captains are New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees and St. Louis Rams defensive end Robert Quinn — will select their teams in a “fantasy draft” format regardless of AFC or NFC affiliation.

The fact that the Chiefs own star, Charles, is one of the captains could bode well for the league-leading nine other Chiefs who will be suiting up in Honolulu, Hawaii next Sunday night. I’m sure will try to convince his boss, Sanders, to take as many Arrowheads as possible on his team.

I just wonder if there’s going to be any friction between Watt and Charles. After all, it was J.C. who broke fellow Houston Texan Brian Cushing’s leg on a monster block earlier this season.

Hopefully time heals all wounds.
