Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning, and especially in the middle of the afternoon when things are starting to drag.  Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom today.

Welcome to The Fix.

It’s Red Friday, Addicts. If you’re not wearing red, you’re wrong.

Speaking of red, Chiefs backup quarterback tweeted out this Red Friday message this morning.

There has been quite a bit of speculation as to what the announcement could be. My money is on the players bringing back the “Sea of Red” uniforms for their home closer against the Indianapolis Colts, as they did for the home opener against the Dallas Cowboys. Either way, I’d stay close to your Twitter feeds around 2 PM Arrowhead Time today.

There’s quite a lot going on this Red Friday (the last one before Christmas, by the way) and all of it is good for the Chiefs. Over at the Kansas City Star Randy Covitz has a great piece up talking about Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston getting ready to return to the playing field.

"All Houston needs is a green light from the team doctors and coach Andy Reid to play on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. The Chiefs listed Houston’s participation in practice on Thursday as ‘limited.’"

Also talking about Houston this morning is ESPN Chiefs blogger, Adam Teicher. He’s got a piece up arguing for Houston’s return, if he’s healthy. When asked, this is what Chiefs defensive coordinator Bob Sutton had to say.

"“It’s great to see him back out there. The thing I really appreciate about Justin is that he’s practicing like he’s trying to play. That’s what we need him to do. We’ll just see where it goes. Hopefully we can get him [back]. He would be a great boost for us.’’"

Finally, over at the Mothership, Chiefs reporter Rachael Santschi has a great piece with all kinds of Chiefs factoids. I found this one to be very interesting.

"The Chiefs have recorded 11 return (punt, kickoff, fumble, interception) touchdowns in 2013, tying the best total in franchise history. Kansas City’s 11 miscellaneous touchdowns are tied for third in NFL history for most miscellaneous touchdowns in a single season. Only two teams in NFL history have ever scored 12 or more miscellaneous touchdowns, the 1998 Seattle Seahawks (13) and the 2010 Arizona Cardinals (12). Kansas City is the only team to record 11 miscellaneous touchdowns, more than one time in franchise history, accomplishing the feat three times (1992, 1999 and 2013)."

That’s your Red Friday edition of the Arrowhead Fix, Addicts! Game day is two days away when the Chiefs face their likely first round opponenet in the Colts! It’s at home, so it’s time to be loud once again!
