There are 79, 451 seats at New Arrowhead Stadium. Every home game, Chiefs faithful fill the stands to be part of the “home game” experience. They high-five with fellow fans when it goes right and console each other when it goes wrong. For the rest of us not in attendance, we do it virtually. Here. Welcome to the Kansas City Chiefs Live Game Thread.

It’s Week 14 in the NFL and the playoff picture will be much clearer after all of today’s action has come to an end. The Chiefs have the opportunity to clinch their first playoff spot since 2010 when this team was led by quarterback Matt Cassel and head coach Todd Haley. Ironically enough, the Chiefs will need a little help from those two gentlemen and their new teams — Cassel with the Minnesota Vikings or Haley with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

But, this all starts with a Chiefs win. We’ve talked about it all week. Pete Prisco said it when I talked to him on Friday. The Chiefs have to win this game.

It’s a snowy, nasty mess in Landover, Maryland and the game will be played on the field that many blamed for RG III’s knee injury in the post season last year. That will definitely be an aspect of this game to monitor as the game moves on.

All in all, the Chiefs are playing a bad Redskins team and I say they win. With the weather that’s moved in, I’m going to back off of my blowout prediction I made on AA Radio this week, but I still think the Chiefs win by two scores.

Chiefs 30

Redskins 16
