Earlier this year during the Chiefs’ magical 9-0 run Pete Prisco, who is the senior NFL columnist for CBS Sports, tweeted out that the team was the “worst 9-0 team” he’d ever seen. This sent a shockwave around Chiefs Kingdom, which resulted in a deluge of tweets, blogs and whatever medium Addicts could find to decry Prisco’s opinion and call him every name in the book. Now that the heightened expectations of an undefeated team are gone, and the Chiefs have dropped three straight to division opponents, I thought it would be a great time to check in with Mr. Prisco and get his take on where the Chiefs stand now.
Despite what you may think about the man’s opinions regarding football in general — or the Chiefs in particular — Pete Prisco is a level headed guy who was gracious enough to give me 15 minutes of his time on the phone to talk about my favorite subject, the Kansas City Chiefs.
