Not every San Francisco 49ers’ cast off will find success with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013, as it’s being reported that wide receiver Kyle Williams has been placed on the season ending injured reserve.

Williams, who was picked up  on waivers by the Chiefs after being released by the 49ers, has torn his ACL according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com

"With few internal options to grow their offense, the Kansas City Chiefs were looking forward to taking a look at wide receiver Kyle Williams to see whether his speed could help their passing game. They won’t get the chance now. Williams tore his ACL and has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season. The Chiefs re-signed wide receiver Chad Hall, who was released last week to clear a roster spot for Williams."

This is a case of bad timing for Williams, because Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Doug Pederson recently spoke well of him to the media.

“Yeah, you know last week was big for him just in learning an aspect of our offense,” Pederson said. “Of course, it’s a game plan week, so it’s very specific. It’s not training camp, as I mentioned last week. I want to give him a few reps, a few plays this week and get him into the ball game, see how he handles the information and the volume of the information, especially during the game. So, we’re excited to see him in action.”

Unfortunately, because of this injury, the Chiefs won’t be able to see Williams in action this year.
