Kansas City Chiefs: The Bounce Back Win

In the NFL, every given Sunday goes one of two ways. You win the game or you lose.

For the Kansas City Chiefs to come out of Denver with their first loss of the year was both a success and a failure. It was a success not because of the result of the game, but rather the result of the year. It cannot be stressed enough that the Chiefs have turned around, and in such a short amount of time. So while the loss hurts, even more since it was to Denver, the fact they are 9-1 in the season is a success no matter how you look at it.

It was also a failure. The team had “Mile High” hopes of walking out with a win, but they were not able to stop the Denver train. The team played hard and gave it their best, but out of Denver with their heads low, resulting in the first loss of the season.

This week the Kansas City Chiefs return to Arrowhead where they are still undefeated. They face a slumping Chargers team that is very familiar with the Arrowhead crowd. The most important aspect of this game is something that the Chiefs know they need… The bounce back win.

The bounce back win is important for one main reason,

It gives the team that is able to come back from the loss, the confidence to push through the next game, and help to change the mindset of the team.

Losing sucks no matter how you look at it, but the Chiefs have the opportunity to not only come back and win strong, but Denver has a matchup with Tom Brady and the Patriots, who always seem to have their number. This could result in a loss for Denver and push the Chiefs back to the best record, in not only the AFC, but in the divisional race as well.

This game can also have home field advantage in the playoffs implications, something that cannot be underestimated. The home crowd has definitely been a factor in the games played there, even more so now that they are crowned the loudest in the NFL.

For the 2013 Chiefs they not only need to come back home and win, but win decisively, and being at home after a tough loss is the best way for the Chiefs to gain their confidence back, and keep themselves in the race for the post-season.

What do you think Addicts? Is this weekend important for the team? What are the results of the game going to be after the tough loss?
