Alex Smith Talks Being 9-0; How Offense Can Improve

Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning, and especially in the middle of the afternoon when things are starting to drag.  Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom today.

Welcome to The Fix.

A lot of people want to talk about the Chiefs and how they shouldn’t be 9-0 right now. We’ll jump into the quotes today with one from Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith from his press conference yesterday courtesy of Reid Ferrin at kcchiefs.com.

"There’s a system in place in the NFL to find out who’s the best. It’s the 16-game season and it’s the playoffs. To be speculating right now, nine games in, who’s the best and who’s not is just talk. They don’t give any trophies out after nine weeks and we understand that and all the talk of any of that is just talk. It’s pointless in my mind."

As the team heads onto its bye week and gets extra time to prepare for the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football November 17, Smith talks about what the offense can do to improve before the game.

"“I mean for one, the main thing is getting the ball in the end zone. That’s our job. We had some times there that we were moving the ball, getting down to the red zone and just stalled out, for a number of different reasons. We have to find a way to get the ball in the end zone.”"

Finally, Alex Smith was asked on 810WHB about CBSSports.com’s Pete Prisco calling the Chiefs “The worst 9-0 team I’ve ever seen.”

To that, Smith replied:

"“I have no idea who that guy is. Nor, do I care.”"

That kind of sums up Chiefs Kingdom’s thoughts on Mr. Prisco. Well, said, Alex. Well said.
