Chiefs vs. Eagles: What to Expect from Andy Reid’s Former Team

Before the season started I didn’t realize the effect Eagles’ head coach Chip Kelly could have on a team. I did not think a pure, college style offense could work in the NFL. Boy, was I wrong. On Monday Night Football against the Washington Redskins, Chip Kelly showed what his offense could do as the Eagles blew out the Redskins. LeSean McCoy had a career day and RG3 looked like he was rusty. Here’s what to expect from the Philadelphia Eagles tonight.

Chip Kelly’s Eagles will be playing their third game in 11 days. I think that Philly will start off strong in this game, but will then get slowed down in the red zone or turn the ball over. Look for Chip Kelly to exploit the mobility of his quarterback and run some read option plays. Also, Brandon Flowers’ status is questionable and Kelly might be looking to use DeSean Jackson to take advantage of the injury. Also, I could definitely see Chip Kelly throwing a lot of screens to Jackson and McCoy to try to offset Bob Sutton’s aggressive style defense.

On defense, which is Philadelphia’s week point, I think Philly will use a lot of schemes with multiple defensive backs to try to combat Andy Reid’s West Coast Offense. I think based on what happened against San Diego, the Eagles will try to employ a bend, but not break type of mentality.

Look for a fairly high scoring game in this Thursday night showdown. Addicts, it’s almost game Time. LETS GO CHIEFS.
